No. 870 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:07 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 870, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 870, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi dated April 7, 2016, nominates <br /> Perry H. Kealoha to the Leeward Planning Commission. If confirmed, Mr. Kealoha would fill a vacant <br /> term to end on December 31, 2020. <br /> Charmaine Shigemura, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kenoi, introduced Mr. Kealoha. Mr. Kealoha said <br /> he is looking forward to the opportunity to serve, and he added he was asked by Tom Whittemore to <br /> serve. <br /> Committee members thanked Mr. Kealoha for his service. They appreciate his prior service on the <br /> Na Ala Hele Advisory Council and the Hawai`i Island Burial Council. <br /> Mr. Kealoha was informed that he is not required to be present for Council confirmation. <br /> Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 870, and <br /> recommends confirmation of the appointment of Perry H.
