Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 870, reports as follows:
Communication No. 870, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi dated April 7, 2016, nominates
Perry H. Kealoha to the Leeward Planning Commission. If confirmed, Mr. Kealoha would fill a vacant
term to end on December 31, 2020.
Charmaine Shigemura, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kenoi, introduced Mr. Kealoha. Mr. Kealoha said
he is looking forward to the opportunity to serve, and he added he was asked by Tom Whittemore to
serve.
Committee members thanked Mr. Kealoha for his service. They appreciate his prior service on the
Na Ala Hele Advisory Council and the Hawai`i Island Burial Council.
Mr. Kealoha was informed that he is not required to be present for Council confirmation.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 870, and
recommends confirmation of the appointment of Perry H. Kealoha to the Leeward Planning
Commission.
