Dear Chairman Kanuha and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Mark Van Pernis to the Kailua Village Design
Commission. Mr. Van Pernis is a 40-year resident of Hawaii. He is an Attorney with
the Law Offices of Mark Van Pernis and its predecessors. He will be filling a position
representing property owners.
Mr. Van Pernis is a past member of the State Redistricting Committee and the
Kailua-Kona Red Cross Board of Directors. He states that he is a member of the
Democratic Party. If confirmed, he will serve the remainder of a 3-year term to end on
December 31, 2017, replacing Adam Broderson.
