I just wanted to take a moment to lend my support to Bill 140 to ban single use EPS foam and plastic. I work
and play in the oceans everyday and I see the impact that all single use plastics can have on it. I believe that the
plastic bag ban has done wonderful things and has such a positive impact on the environment. The ban itself has
provided wonderful education for the public. I think that if we can pass Bill 140 we would see an even greater
positive impact on the environment and on education. This impact would make a better world for generations to
come. We are an amazing place. Lets lead the way towards a better and cleaner world.
Mahalo,
Evan
(, Evan ,support Bill '140 because I am deeply concerned by the negative health impacts
that single-use EPS foam and plastic have on our marine wildlife and human health. EPS foam continues to find its way into the ocean
and can end up being ingested by numerous marine animals for years to come. When we sit down to eat our local fish, chances are
that we could be ingesting plastics and chemicals too. I am emboldened by our keiki to make a commitment to change this behavior
and show them that we will take steps to support a cleaner future for all.
