Ui ;1-0 .y 4 Lawmakers in Hawaii, I am writing to show my support for Bill 140, to reduce the use of styrofoam on Hawaii island. Styrofoam needs to be fazed out of our island just like plastic shopping bags. Like plastic bags, Styrofoam products are useless in my opinion, as they don't work well for what they are intended for, and primarily end up as non-biodegradable waste. There are smarter alternatives out there, and I believe that Hawai'i can set the example for the rest of the country when it comes to being progressive to take care of the 'aina. This bill would be a great and important step in reducing our dependency of petroleum-based products that add toxins to the air, land and aquatic environments during production and disposal. What a wonderful opportunity for our island, let's take it! Mahalo for your consideration Danielle Gross Volcano, Hawaii Comm: No, W , l Ref. To, Ref. Date A9AY 1
