I write to express my opposition to Bill 165 which would add a County 9 fi
of Hawaii surcharge of one-half percent on top of the current 4.0
General Excise Tax.
This bill would cause further hardship to the small businesses of
Hawaii County that are already crippled by the high State income tax
rates. Please vote no to the tax hike, there are far better ways to
generate income for the County.
Thank you for the opportunity to express my thoughts on this important CD
matter in advance of Tuesday's vote.
