Aloha Council Member Onishi,
I write to express my opposition to Bill 165 which would 'add a County
of Hawaii surcharge of one-half percent on top of the current 4.0
General Excise Tax.
I describe the idea of increasing GET from ridiculous . ..to robbery.
Given tgat the current Mayor embarased us all by his guilty behavior
he is corrupt and should be thrown out already;
and that perhaps other legislatures work it like he does, . Who can we
trust? Startcwith tegsinirig our trust.we taxpayers expect to see more
frugal county financial management,. As a taxpayer, I am very
discouraged that my elected lawmakers can't do a better job with the
money they already get
instead you lawmakers turn to increasing the already burdensome GET.
No other state has GET. At current 4% This progressive tax compares to
21% tax on essentially all items , from toilet paper to rice.
No can up it more!
Do not do this.. . Again
Instead vote NO

matter in advance of Tuesday's vote.
