Aloha Council Member Onishi,
I write to express my opposition to Bill 165 which would add a County -< —--
of Hawaii surcharge of one-half percent on top of the current 4.0
General Excise Tax. N.)
Please DO NOT raise our already higher than national average taxes.
I appreciate that things are getting more expensive, but every time you
take more of my $1 the less I have to live on. The cost of living for tV _
those of us who actually pay the taxes, keeps getting more
prohibitive.
We need more accountability of spending, not more spending.
This is 13% increase on GET. When does it stop? How much more can you
take before we too, are living on the street?
I urge you to show your strength by being accountable and not just
asking for more.
Thank you for the opportunity to express my thoughts on this important
matter in advance of Tuesday's vote.
