Dearest Council,
I am urging you to totally support Bill 150, by letting willing people continue to serve on those boards and
making it as easy as possible to keep those positions filled.
For some reason our island CDPAC's have been neglected, but the time is now for the county council and the
Hawaii County Planning Department to support and actually cause to be incorporated into action our various
community development plans, instead of continually ignoring residents wishes and wasting plenty money on
various CDP's over the years, kind of like lip service to placate the restless.
The days of land and power in Hawaii are coming to an end now, the people want a say in their lives here in
Lava Zone 1 and other Lava Zones around the Big Island.
You in the County Council need to make sure the planning department and other state agencies don't make
decisions for the Big Island residents which continue to put people at great risk, like completely ignoring the
need for a second access road in and out of lower Puna, which would have probably negated most of the panic,
premature evacuations and emergency road construction from Nanawale to Hawaiian Beaches during the June
27, 2014 lava flows in Pahoa, saving the County and State and Feds lots of money.
If we had that second road we wouldn't be dealing with our deadly man-made and prolonged traffic problems
either, no dangerous Highway 130, no need for 4 lanes, no need for that roundabout either, since half the people
would be using the secondary road to bypass everything and get to Hilo.
Thanks for your care for the residents of the various communities around the Big Island!
