Dear County Council Members,
I would like to praise you for taking action supporting the prohibition on Expanded Polystyrene Foam
(EPS, styrofoam) for prepared foods and, rather, requiring compostable or recyclable containers once
the Hawai'i County composting facility is running. This is my testimony in support of this bill and your
actions to replace EPS with more sustainable and environmentally responsible resource use in the
State of Hawai'i.
