TESTIMONY bill 140
Karen and all County Council members
I am not known as an avid environmentalist, but I am talking a stand on Bill 140. As
the Hilo landfill fills up, I don't not want to see their garbage trucked to Kona.
Yes, eco clam-shells cost more, but the price is coming down due to mass
production. Other municipalities already ban Styrofoam [polystyrene]. We got along
fine without plastic grocery bags, so lets take the next step and be a leader to ban
polystyrene.
Remember polystyrene is made for petroleum. Need I say more?
Thanks DR TED
Aloha
