Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 209, reports as follows:
Bill No. 209,transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi via Communication No. 888 dated May 6, 2016,
amends Ordinance No. 03-115, which reclassified lands from Multiple Family Residential— 1,000
Square Feet(RM-1)to Village Commercial—7,500 Square Feet(CV-7.5) at Honua`ula,North Kona,
Hawai`i, covered by Tax Map Key: 7-5-022:040. The applicant is Tante Urban, and the subject parcel
covers 7,500 square feet. The applicant intends to construct a six-unit, multiple-family apartment
building with commercial kitchen on ground floor.
The Leeward Planning Commission, at its duly held public hearing on April 21, 2016, recommended
approval of this item.
The applicant attended by videoconference from Kona, where he stated during public testimony
he would be present to answer questions, should Your Committee have any. There was no
discussion.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 209, and recommends
passage on first reading.
