RESOLUTION NO. 541 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION TO SEND STAFF TO THE 2016 HAWAII RECREATION AND PARKS
SOCIETY CONFERENCE.
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Recreation and Parks Society (HRPS) is dedicated to
advancing the park and recreation field in the State of Hawaii by expanding professional and
educational oportunities for its members and supporting programs that provide improved leisure
services in Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, HRPS will be hosting a conference on Hawai`i Island on August 16-18,
2016, which will provide a variety of workshops and seminars where members can participate,
exchange ideas, and keep current with new trends in management; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has identified the need for funds to
send recreation staff to participate and assist with hosting the 2016 HRPS Conference on Hawaii
Island; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation for staff training, membership, guest speakers, travel,
and other related expenses associated with the 2016 HRPS Conference; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
