Dear Curt:
Please find enclosed an article which appeared in Pacific
Business News. If this article is correct, the County is getting
hosed on the appraisal fee. If the appraisal is for 19 homes,
this equates to approximately $1,842 per property. If the
appraisal is for 36 homes, this equates to approximately $972 per
property.
Z think if you check on the going rate for appraisals in
that area you will find fees more in the $425 per property range,
not considering a bulk discount for the number of properties
being appraised.
Thank you for allowing me to sound off on the waste of
public moneys.
