RESOLUTION NO. 556 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE
FUTURE FOR THE 2016 HAWAII ISLAND WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP FORUM.
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has agreed
to be the fiscal sponsor of the second annual Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Forum; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the 2016 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Forum is to
empower and advance women by providing tools and resources to strengthen their personal and
professional relationships, their careers, and their involvement and participation in their
community; and
WHEREAS, the forum will be held August 26, 2016, at Hilton Waikoloa Village; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Future to assist with
expenses related to audio/visual services for the 2016 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership
Forum; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
