RESOLUTION NO. 557 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PAY FOR A CROSSWALK AND FLASHING
LIGHTS FOR HAWAII MONTESSORI SCHOOL ON MANAWALE`A STREET,
NORTH KONA.
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i recognizes that infrastructure improvements for
walking and biking will increase transportation options and help to improve the health, safety,
and quality of life for Hawai`i Island residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works seeks funding to pay for a crosswalk and
flashing lights for Hawai`i Montessori School to allow safe passage for keiki and adults while
crossing Manawale`a Street in Kealakehe, North Kona; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Department of Public Works to pay for a crosswalk and flashing lights for the Hawai`i
Montessori School in North Kona; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC-- Contingency Relief $10,000
CREDITED TO:
010.801.5801.38 Department of Public Works $10,000
Trans to Highway Fund
341 Misc. Charges
(Crosswalk and Flashing Lights for
Hawaii Montessori School)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Public Works and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
