RESOLUTION NO. 558 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE
FUTURE FOR THE 2016 HAWAII ISLAND WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP FORUM.
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney oversees the Committee on the
Status of Women, which seeks to advance and celebrate the value of women in our society,
cultivate relationships, encourage networking, and develop leaders locally; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that envisions
harmony and balance among the diverse people of Hawaii and encourages individuals to strive
to enrich their communities through shared visions and multi-cultural values; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future will partner with the Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney to support the 2016 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Forum that will be held on
August 26, 2016, at the Hilton Waikoloa Village; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports the 2016 Hawai`i Island
Women's Leadership Forum in hopes of advancing women through knowledge, strength, and
community; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Future for the 2016
Hawaii Island Women's Leadership Forum; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
