RESOLUTION NO. 5G3 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE KEA'AU
COUGARS ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES
RELATED TO THE 2016 KEA'AU HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT GRAD NIGHT.
WHEREAS, Kea'au Cougars Athletic Booster (KCAB) Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization, honored the Kea'au High School graduating class of 2016 with a Project Grad
Night on May 20, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Kea'au High School Project Grad Night provided a safe, alcohol-free and
drug-free environment for graduating high school students; and
WHEREAS, the KCAB Club had identified a financial need for expenses associated
with the Kea'au High School Project Grad, including activities, entertainment, and giveaways for
the graduates; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Kea'au Cougars Athletic Booster
Club for reimbursement of expenses related to the 2016 Kea'au High School Project Grad Night;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
