These funds will be used to install a crosswalk and flashing lights for Hawai`i Montessori School on Manawalea'a Street in North Kona. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $10,000 to the Department of Public Works, Traffic Division's Signals and Street Lights, Highway Materials account within the Highway Fund. The Department of Public Works is requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the August 3, 2016 Council Agenda. We are requesting these funds to be appropriated in the Highway Fund. Since there is a concurrent resolution to request funding transfer to the Highway Fund, the Department of Public Works Traffic Division would like to request a waiver from the Finance Committee and have this bill heard at the Council meeting scheduled for August 3, 2016.
