Dear Chairman Kanuha and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Carl Carlson, Jr., of Council District 8 to the County of
Hawai'i Police Commission. Mr. Carlson is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. He is
presently self-employed as a consultant to Huihue Ventures, LLC, which he is also the
founder, member, and manager.
Mr. Carlson is a former member of the UH Board of Regents, the Board of Agriculture,
and the Research Corporation of Hawaii. He is a past member of the Hawai'i County
Board of Ethics. Mr. Carlson states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If
confirmed, he will fill a vacant term to end on December 31, 2020.
