Dear Chairman Kanuha and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Hugh Y. Ono, of Council District 3 to the Hawaii
County Salary Commission. Mr. Ono is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. He is a
self-employed management consultant.
Mr. Ono is a former Hawai'i Island United Way Board Chair and Campaign Chair. He is
a volunteer with the National Council of Examiners for Engineers & Surveyors. Mr. Ono
states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will fill a vacant
term to end on December 31, 2020.
