RESOLUTION NO. 573 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE
FUTURE FOR THE 2016 HAWAII ISLAND WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP FORUM.
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Forum helps to cultivate women
leaders locally and celebrate the value of women in our society; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney oversees the Committee on the
Status of Women, and one of the goals of this Committee is to promote women's participation in
public and private sectors; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is partnering
with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to support the 2016 Hawai`i Island Women's
Leadership Forum; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County Department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which he grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Future to assist with
expenses associated with the 2016 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Forum; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
