RESOLUTION NO. 574 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BOYS AND GIRLS
CLUB OF THE BIG ISLAND FOR OPERATING EXPENSES AT THE PAHOA
CLUBHOUSE.
WHEREAS, Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island(BGCBI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that provides youth development through after-school programs in Hawai`i County;
and
WHEREAS, the Pahoa Clubhouse of BGCBI serves more than 160 youth Mondays to
Fridays; and
WHEREAS, BGCBI has requested funds to assist with expenses related to the
operations of the Pahoa Clubhouse; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to BGCBI to assist with general
operating expenses at the Pahoa Clubhouse, including personnel costs, program materials,
equipment, and supplies; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
