RESOLUTION NO. 5'76 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO MALAMA 0 PUNA
FOR THE PAHOA VILLAGE BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT.
WHEREAS, Malama 0 Puna is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has agreed to be
the fiscal sponsor for a project to beautify Pahoa Village; and
WHEREAS, the beautification project will create six fence installations, three murals,
and will cultivate and improve five community gardens in various places along Pahoa Village
Road for the public's use and enjoyment; and
WHEREAS, the beautification project will create a sense of public harmony and unity,
increase public safety, and empower the community by creating stakeholders; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Malama 0 Puna to purchase
materials and supplies for the Pahoa Village beautification project; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
