RESOLUTION NO. 580 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FIRST ASSEMBLY OF
GOD FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONVOY
OF HOPE BIG ISLAND COMMUNITY EVENT.
WHEREAS, First Assembly of God, doing business as (d/b/a) Convoy of Hope Hawaii,
is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides an array of services and goods to families in
need; and
WHEREAS, Convoy of Hope Hawaii is a faith-based, nonprofit organization with a
driving passion to feed the world through children's feeding initiatives, community outreaches,
and at times of disasters; and
WHEREAS, Convoy of Hope Hawaii is a core partner of the Convoy of Hope Big Island
Community Event, which was held on July 9, 2016, at the County Fairgrounds outside of the
Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium; and
WHEREAS, funds are needed to reimburse costs associated with the Convoy of Hope
Big Island Community Event, including but not limited to expenses incurred for backpacks,
school supplies, toothbrushes, toothpastes, and socks for children and veterans in the community;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to First Assembly of God d/b/a
Convoy of Hope Hawaii for reimbursement of expenses associated with the Convoy of Hope Big
Island Community Event; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
