RESOLUTION NO. 586 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FIRST ASSEMBLY OF
GOD FOR A REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES FOR THE CONVOY OF HOPE BIG
ISLAND COMMUNITY EVENT.
WHEREAS, First Assembly of God, doing business as (d/b/a) Convoy of Hope Hawaii,
is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides an array of services and goods to families in
need; and
WHEREAS, Convoy of Hope Hawaii is a core partner of the Convoy of Hope Big Island
Community Event, which distributed free goods and services to community members in Hilo on
July 8, 2016; and
WHEREAS, funds are needed to help reimburse costs associated with the Convoy of
Hope Big Island Community Event, including but not limited to the expenses for backpacks and
school supplies for children in the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to First Assembly of God d/b/a
Convoy of Hope Hawaii to provide a reimbursement for the cost of purchasing backpacks,
school supplies, and other related items that were distributed during the Convoy of Hope Big
Island Community Event; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
