SUBJECT: Proposed Amendments to Resolution No. 565-16, Draft 2; a Resolution to
Establish a Hawaii Island Packaging Sustainability Initiative (HIPSI)
Stakeholders Task Force.
Please find attached proposed amendments to Resolution No. 565-16, Draft 2. The proposed
amendments are illustrated below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Resolution
No. 565-16, Draft 2 (material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken; material to be added is
underscored):
1. The first BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED clause is amended to read as follows:
"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this task force will be comprised of Council Chair
Dru Mamo Kanuha and Council Member Daniel Paleka, Corporation Counsel Molly Stebbins,
Environmental Management Director Bobby Jean Leithead-Todd, Department of Research and
Development Director John De Fries, respective representation from Hawai`i State Department
of Health, [` - .•. , - • . -. .. - - - - •• ' - •- • , ]Department of Business Economic
Development and Tourism, Hawaii Wildlife Fund, Surfrider Foundation, KYD, Inc. dba K.
Yamada Distributors, Sustainable Island Products, Hawaii Food Industry Association, Hawaii
Restaurant Association, Hawaii Paper Products, Suisan Co. Ltd., and two members from the
general public who shall be selected as provided herein."
2. The BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED clause is amended to read as follows:
"BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward copies of this
resolution to the Honorable William P. Kenoi, Mayor, County of Hawai`i; Bobby Jean Leithead-
Todd, Director of Environmental Management; John DeFries, Director of Research and
Development; Dr. Virginia"Ginny" Pressler, MD, MBA, FACS, Director of Hawaii State
Department of Health(DOH); Keith Kawaoka, Hawaii State DOH Deputy Director for
