RE: Bi11332 (Draft 31
Dear Council Members:
On behalf of the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, I am writing to state our support
for Kaupulehu Developments' proposed resort/residential community.
We see this project to be a natural extension of the existing resort development at
Kaupulehu. This project will complement the adjacent properties of Hualalai Resort and Kona
Village Resort and will eventually strengthen Kaupulehu as a resort area. This would fulfill the
objectives of the County of Hawaii General Plan and the State's West Hawaii Plan.
Furthermore, given our prolonged economic problems, we strongly urge your approval of
this project. Your approval will signal that affirmative steps aze being taken by government and
the private sector to improve our economy and to provide future employment opportunities for
our residents. Although this project is a few years away from being constructed, we believe that
it can create some positive momentum for our County if it is allowed to proceed.
Thank you for this opportunity to make this recommendation.
Sincerely,
HAWAII ISLA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
