RESOLUTION NO. 623 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE
FUTURE TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 2016 HAWAII ISLAND
WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP FORUM.
WHEREAS, the mission of the Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Forum (HIWLF) is
to empower and advance women on Hawai`i Island through knowledge, strength, and
community; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports
endeavors that unify, empower, and strengthen individuals and organizations, such as the
HIWLF; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future supports the second annual HIWLF, which will be
held at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on August 26, 2016, and is requesting funds to assist with
expenses related to the event; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Future to assist with
expenses relating to the 2016 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Forum; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
