Arakaki And Members of the County Council County of Hawaii Hilo, HI 96720 Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members: It is my pleasure to submit the nominations of the following individuals to the Hawaii County Water Commission. • Raymond M. Kawamata of Kamuela to replace Fred T. Yamashiro of Kamuela, whose term expired on December 31, 1998. Mr. Kawamata is a 50-year resident of Hawaii and since 1983 has been the owner/manager of Kawamata Farms, Inc. He states that he has no political party affiliation. John S. Tolmie, Jr. of Hilo to replace Thomas P. Whittemore of Kona, whose term expired on December 31, 1998. Mr. Tolmie is a 28-year resident of Hawaii and since 1976, has been self-employed as a real estate developer. He is currently president of both the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce and the Hawaii Island Board of Realtors. He states that he has no political party affiliation. If approved, both Messrs. Kawamata and Tolmie will respectively serve terms to end on December 31, 2003. Should the Council need additional information regarding this submission, you may call me at your convenience.
