The grant funds will be used to enforce the arrest of drivers operating vehicles while under the influence of alcohol. In the current fiscal year's budget, $185,000 is appropriated for this grant. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the additional funds into the HCPD Roadblock Program account, bringing the total grant appropriation to $196,573. The Police Department is requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee review, and be placed on the September 21, 2016 Council agenda in order expedite the receipt of these funds.
