The grant funds will be used <br /> to enforce seat belt and child restraint laws. In the current fiscal year's budget, $78,500 <br /> is appropriated for this grant. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the <br /> additional funds into the Occupant Protection program account,bringing the total grant <br /> appropriation to $78,843. <br /> The Police Department is requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee <br /> review, and be placed on the September 21, 2016 Council agenda in order expedite the <br /> receipt of these funds.
