RESOLUTION NO. 655 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAMAKUA
HEALTH CENTER FOR THE 2016 HAMAKUA KOHALA HEALTH WELLNESS
FAIR.
WHEREAS, the 2016 Hamakua Kohala Health Wellness Fair ("Health Fair") is a
campaign to promote wellness and education; and
WHEREAS, the Hamakua Health Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, whose
mission is to provide quality healthcare that is responsive to patients' and communities' needs;
and
WHEREAS, Hamakua Health Center, with the help of the Department of Parks and
Recreation, is coordinating the 2016 Health Fair, which will be held on November 19, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the main goal of the Health Fair is to provide all participating vendors with
the opportunity to reach out to as many people in need as possible; and
WHEREAS, members of the community will come together to provide food, education,
and activities at the Honoka`a gymnasium and park; and
WHEREAS, an insurance booth will also be available that will encourage uninsured
individuals to sign up for healthcare coverage; and
WHEREAS, funds are needed to help with event insurance, refreshments, activities,
equipment, tents, chairs, and other various supplies associated with the Health Fair; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity,
service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Hamakua Health Center for the
2016 Hamakua Kohala Health Wellness Fair; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
