COUNTY OF HAWAII •i.6`;14 STATE OF HAWAII •�OF N RESOLUTION NO. 657 16 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI- YEAR HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENT CONTRACT (AGREEMENT) WITH THE PROPERTY OWNERS/PROPERTY MANAGERS OF SELECTED PROJECTS FOR THE SECTION 8 PROJECT-BASED VOUCHER PROGRAM (PBV PROGRAM) AS OFFERED THROUGH A PUBLIC NOTICE DATED APRIL 13, 20, AND 27, 2016. WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year, be approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, under the Project-Based Voucher Program, the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) will attach a Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment Contract (Agreement) to existing structures; and WHEREAS, the OHCD, through the Request for Proposal (RFP) process has selected proposed projects: Mohouli Senior Residences, Phase 4 (32 vouchers), Kaiaulu O Waikoloa (15 vouchers), and Hale Kikaha (up to 23 vouchers); and WHEREAS, the County of Hawai'i wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement with property owners or property managers of selected projects for the Section 8 Project Based Voucher Program's evaluation process; and WHEREAS, the OHCD is requesting authorization for the Mayor to enter into a multi-year agreement with property owners or property managers of the selected Project- Based Voucher projects; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a multi-year agreement with Provider(s) for the Section 8 Project-Based Voucher Program offered through the Public Notice dated April 13, 20 and 27, 2016.
