RESOLUTION NO. 676 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PUNA COMMUNITY
MEDICAL CENTER FOR EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS.
WHEREAS, the Puna Community Medical Center(PCMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that is a community-based health center whose mission is to provide readily
accessible, high-quality health care for the residents and visitors of Puna; and
WHEREAS, PCMC continues to seek financial assistance to accommodate the ongoing
medical needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, PCMC is requesting funds to assist with purchases including, but not
limited to, immunizations, rapid testing kits, bandages and dressings, nebulizers, medications,
scalpels, syringes, and gloves; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Puna Community Medical
Center to assist with purchasing the necessary equipment and materials to meet the medical
needs of Puna; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
