RESOLUTION NO. 677 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ANEKONA OULI
KANEHOA VFD COMPANY FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A SECURITY GATE
AND FENCE.
WHEREAS, Anekona Ouli Kanehoa VFD Company (AOK) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that represents the volunteer firefighters who provide critical support to the Hawaii
Fire Department when responding to emergencies; and
WHEREAS, AOK supports 9-Bravo, a volunteer fire company located in Waikoloa
that is trained and certified to assist the Hawai`i Fire Department during emergencies; and
WHEREAS, AOK has secured a site to build a permanent facility for 9-Bravo's
equipment and vehicles, which are currently being stored at the homes of the volunteer
firefighters; and
WHEREAS, AOK is requesting funds to install a security gate and fence system around
the new site to secure the equipment and vehicles; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to
the Hawai`i Fire Department to provide a grant to Anekona Ouli Kanehoa VFD Company for the
installation of a security gate and fence for 9-Bravo; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
