Dear Chairman Kanuha and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Richard (Rick) Vidgen of Council District 7, to the
County of Hawaii Environmental Management Commission. He is a 33-year resident of
Hawaii. Mr. Vidgen is employed by Clark Realty as a realtor.
Mr. Vidgen is a member of the Kailua-Kona Chamber of Commerce, Kona Hospital
Board, and the Board of Hawaii Island Realtors. He states that he is not affiliated with
any political party. Hawaii County Charter Section 13-4(c), states that "members of any
board or commission appointed for a term of two years or less shall be eligible to
succeed themselves for an additional full term." If confirmed today, Mr. Vidgen will fill a
vacant term to end on December 31, 2017, and eligible for an additional full.
