RESOLUTION NO. 686 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE HAWAII ISLE POLICE ACTIVITIES
LEAGUE BOXING PROGRAM IN WEST HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Isle Police Activities League ("HI-PAL") is a community
youth program under the Hawai`i County Police Department; and
WHEREAS, HI-PAL provides social and athletic activities for the youth of Hawai`i
Island; and
WHEREAS, HI-PAL believes that reviving its boxing program will expand and enhance
its mission to "cultivate and improve moral and civic standards for youths in our community";
and
WHEREAS, HI-PAL is requesting funds to assist with expenses for equipment, supplies,
certification of boxing officials (referees,judges, and scorekeepers), CPR certification, and other
expenses associated with the HI-PAL boxing program in West Hawaii (Area 2); and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the
Police Department to assist with expenses relating to the HI-PAL boxing program in West
Hawai`i (Area 2); now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
