RESOLUTION NO. 688 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF
HAWAII YMCA FOR THE YMCA FAMILY VISITATION CENTER PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Island of Hawai`i YMCA (YMCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that supports our communities by emphasizing healthy living, well-being, youth
development, and social responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, the YMCA Family Visitation Center Program provides a safe, nurturing,
and supervised environment for children who have been subject to domestic violence, divorce,
separation, or custody disputes to visit with a parent or be transferred between parents; and
WHEREAS, the YMCA is requesting funding for supervisory staff and security during
visitations and exchanges; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Island of Hawai`i YMCA to
assist with expenses related to the Family Visitation Center Program; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
