RESOLUTION NO. 692 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE
FUTURE TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE WAIMEA
DOMESTIC HARMONY VIGIL, PARADE, AND FORUM.
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney promotes proactive community
involvement to address public safety and health; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is partnering
with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to support Waimea Domestic Harmony Vigil,
Parade, and Forum; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Waimea Domestic Harmony Vigil, Parade, and Forum is
to bring awareness of domestic violence to the community and to show support to the victims of
domestic violence, which will be held on October 28, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is requesting funding assistance to help defray
expenses to the Waimea Domestic Harmony Vigil, Parade, and Forum, including but not limited
to permits, insurance, tents, materials and related expenses; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Future to assist with
expenses associated with the Waimea Domestic Harmony Vigil, Parade, and Forum; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
