SUBJECT: Transmitting Bill No. 248, Draft 2; an Ordinance Amending Chapter 20, of
the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as Amended), by Adding a
New Article Relating to Disposable Food Packaging and Food Service Ware
by County Entities, County Food Vendors, and County Facility Users.
Please find attached Bill No. 248, Draft 2. Bill No. 248 was amended by the contents of
Communication No. 1091.1, as duly approved by the Environmental Management Committee
during its meeting on October 18, 2016.
Pursuant to Chapter 2, Section 2-207 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as
amended), Bill No. 248, Draft 2, was referred to the Director of Environmental Management and
the Environmental Management Commission for their comments and recommendations.
