RESOLUTION NO. 718 16
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE
DONATION OF USED MOTOR OIL CONTAINMENT UNITS FROM THE
STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Department of Health is donating used motor
oil containment units to the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, this equipment, with an estimated value of approximately
$28,000, will be utilized by the Department of Environmental Management; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Department of
Environmental Management, and the Finance Department.
