RESOLUTION NO. 720 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST WITH PURCHASES OF NECESSARY
EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES, AND MATERIALS FOR THE PAHOA AND MOUNTAIN
VIEW SENIOR CENTERS.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, has
identified the need for funds to assist with purchases of necessary equipment, supplies, and
materials for the Pahoa and Mountain View Senior Centers, as it would like to expand programs
and services to meet the growing needs of our senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation serves older adults in recreation,
educational, health-related and cultural classes at senior centers, such as the Senior centers
located near Pahoa Community Center and adjacent to A. J. Watt Park in Mt. View; and
WHEREAS, Department of Parks and Recreation budgeted funds are not sufficient to
meet the needs of our elderly in Puna; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, to assist with purchases of
necessary equipment, supplies, and materials for the Pahoa and Mountain View Senior Centers;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
