RESOLUTION NO. 721 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R.
SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO ASSIST THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WITH REFURBISHING ITS RADON RESCUE BOAT.
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization committed to providing essential equipment to the Hawai`i Fire Department to help
save lives; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department, Ocean Safety Bureau, is in need of funds to
refurbish its Radon rescue boat and has requested assistance from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial
Foundation: and
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is seeking funding assistance to
help refurbish the Radon rescue boat utilized by the Hawai`i Fire Department rescue teams; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Hawai`i Fire Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to
assist the Hawai`i Fire Department with refurbishing its Radon rescue boat; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
