Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 698-16, reports as follows:
Resolution 698-16, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 1130
dated October 14, 2016, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one
fiscal year for a multi-year agreement for two small boom trucks.
This resolution authorizes a five-year lease agreement, which would alleviate equipment and repair and
associated costs on older equipment. The new boom trucks would be used by the Department of Public
Works, Highways Division, for South Hilo and Puna roads.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Pursuant to Section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year
shall be approved by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 698-16, and
recommends its adoption.
