Re: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 254; An Ordinance Amending Chapter 2,
Article 3 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016 edition, as amended), by
Adding a New Section Relating to Appointment of Personnel to the Office of the
Corporation Counsel
Please see below a proposed amendment to Bill No. 254. The proposed amendment is illustrated
by Ramseyer format (material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken; material to be added is
underscored). Due to the limited scope of this proposed amendment, a draft copy of Bill No. 254,
Draft 2, has been intentionally omitted.
Bill No. 254 is amended by amending SECTIONS 3, 4, and 5 as follows:
"SECTION [3-:] 2.New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the
underscoring need not be included.
SECTION [4] 3. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other
provisions or applications of the ordinance, which can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to
be severable.
SECTION I J 4. This ordinance shall take effect [upon--approval.] on December
15, 2016."
