RESOLUTION NO. 73° 16
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL'S HEARTFELT
GRATITUDE TO COUNCIL MEMBER DANIEL K. PALEKA, JR. FOR HIS YEARS
OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Council Member Daniel K. Paleka, Jr. represented Council District 5 in the
2014-2016 council term; and
WHEREAS, during the past two years, Council Member Daniel K. Paleka, Jr. has served
as Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Mass Transit; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Daniel K. Paleka, Jr. has admirably took on additional
leadership roles as a legislator by serving as an alternate representative to the Executive
Committee of the Hawai`i State Association of Counties (HSAC) and as a board member of the
Western Interstate Region (WIR) Board of Directors, which is affiliated with the National
Association of Counties (NACo); and
WHEREAS, Council Member Daniel K. Paleka, Jr. has consistently demonstrated
unwavering dedication, strong leadership, and outstanding public service to the residents of
Hawai`i Island, especially to his constituents in Council District 5; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Daniel K. Paleka, Jr. will complete his term of office at
noon on Monday, December 5, 2016, having compiled an exemplary attendance and voting
record for all Council and Committee meetings held during his years in office; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
hereby extends its sincerest gratitude to Council Member Daniel K. Paleka, Jr. for his years of
service to the County of Hawaii and offers its best wishes for his continued health, success,
happiness, and good fortune in his personal and professional life.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to Council Member Daniel K. Paleka, Jr.
