No. 1156/Bill No. 260 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:22 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 260, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 260, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi via Communication No. 1156 dated October 24, <br /> 2016, amends Section 25-8-33 (City of Hilo Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning Code) of the <br /> Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition) by changing the district classification from Agricultural — <br /> Twenty Acres (A-20a) to Family Agricultural—Two Acres (FA-2a) at Ponahawai, South Hilo, Hawai`i, <br /> covered by Tax Map Key: 2-5-047:031. The applicants are John K. and Lori L. Kai, and the subject <br /> parcel covers 9.323 acres. The applicants intend to subdivide the property into four parcels, <br /> approximately 2+acres each. The applicants will live on one lot in their home that has been previously <br /> constructed and will reserve the other lots for their immediate family. <br /> The Windward Planning Commission, at its duly held public hearing on October 6, 2016, concurred <br /> with the Planning Director's favorable recommendation. <br /> Mr. Chung said, "I think everything looks OK."
