JJSVIOf k,!{• O 7 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII 4TE OF•N'•l+ RESOLUTION NO. 14 16 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE COOPER CENTER COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH ITS FRIENDS FEEDING FRIENDS COMMUNITY DINNER EVENT. WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization whose purpose is to manage the Cooper Center, which is the location for many events throughout the year; and WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council serves various communities in Volcano Village and the surrounding areas by providing a venue for meetings, community events, a weekly farmers' market, and the Volunteer Fire Station 19 -Alpha; and WHEREAS, Friends Feeding Friends is a community event held once a month at the Cooper Center, which provides a free dinner and packaged goods for those in need to take home; and WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of miscellaneous supplies and groceries to continue its monthly Friends Feeding Friends community dinner event for Volcano Village and the surrounding communities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Cooper Center Council to purchase miscellaneous supplies and groceries associated with its Friends Feeding Friends community dinner event; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:
