Isn't it obvious where tax increase monies can be found????? When large companies such as Chalon Corporation who controls 1,000 of acres and pays $25 per year minimum tax on many of these huge parcels, when there are around 9,000 properties in the minimum tax category, not just mom and pop properties but huge corporations, when the cost to mail out a tax bill is around $50 what the 1-1-ll are you people thinking of to burden the rest of the community with even a $1 per thousand increase???? I loc>> can you ignore the inequities and irreularities in the method the county asssesses value. All. citizens need to contribute to the whole equally Including corporations and mom and pop. An increase in the minimum tax from $25 to $300 per yeaz is not unreasonable and represents $25 per month. That money can be found in any budget. Clean up the county government, get rid of the dead wood, be responsible and accountable in spending, illuiunate nepotism in government, and represent all of the people not just your owm families. The effort to slip this tax increase through is a lazy answer to finding funds. Furthermore it is unethical, self- serving, and illegal. Perhaps it is time for the County government to be investigated and held accountable, just as Bishop Estate is being invesflgated. Amen. R.A.
